Glenn Beck Interviews Doug Hoffman

October 28, 2009
By

hoffman beck

Glenn Beck interviewed independent Conservative candidate Doug Hoffman yesterday.  In case you have been hiding in a hole somewhere, Hoffman is running for New York’s 23rd Congressional District seat against DNC candidate Bill Owens and GOP candidate Dede Scozzafava.  He has been endorsed by a multitude of conservative figures even though he is not the “Republican” candidate.  The Republican is…well lets just be polite… and say she is less than conservative to say the least.. and the Democrat…well he’s a Democrat so you figure it out.

Here is the video.

You can read the transcript of the interview here.

He is definitely a small district Congressmen without the gravitas I would usually like to see, but his positions are solid and his goals – while limited – are commendable.

I really would have liked to see some more confidence from Hoffman. I know he is the conservative but he just seemed timid. The answer at the end left much to be desired.

THis is the Doug Hoffman that all of conservatism has placed its bets upon? You guys are in more trouble than you think you are. If he is what you want from a candidate then you will be a minority for the endless future.

I would have liked him to have come across more polished. He seemed out of his league.

I agree with 3 of the 4 comments above. You can figure out which one failed to get the nod. I believe he is very much out of his element on the national stage, but I am not sure that it really concerns me. He is not running for Vice President here. He is running for a Congressional seat in upstate New York. I can admit that I did not like his response to the Marx question but only because he didn’t crack a joke or fire back at Beck for asking it. That is the softball question Beck and Hannity throw out for an excuse to hang up on callers, so he should have pounced on it if for nothing else but a good sound bite.
