Newt Just Admit You Screwed Up

The race for New York’s 23rd Congressional seat has turned Republicans from across the country into opponents as the GOP is divided between the moderate Party first supporters and the conservatives stand together crowd. I am obviously in the latter group and so are the majority of the significant voices in the GOP. The only exception to this rule is the continued position of Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. He was an early supporter of Dede Scozzafava and has held firm to his endorsement defending her candidacy every step of the way. While it may be far too late at this point to salvage any credibility, I have to believe that the best course of action for Newt to take is to come out now and admit that he was wrong. I understand that this is Newt and he doesn’t “crumble” under pressure but I also understand that the Republican Party is full of voters who will never forget this Congressional race in Upstate New York. I for one know that I will not, but I would find it in my heart to forgive the man if he could admit that he was wrong and Right the ship before election day. Sadly I believe that he will not.

Never going to happen T. Newt is who he is because he doesn’t retreat. It is too late in this one to expect him to see the error in his ways or at least to admit them.
I just watched that interview with Glenn Beck. Maybe Gingrich was the one that had it right for once. Hoffman is a joke. It pains me to admit that Newt Gingrich may be right about anything but he made the more sound choice in this race.
The problem with the Republican party is that it has failed to stand for anything for so long that it no longer is capable of distinguishing between the real deal and frauds.
The problem with the Republican party is that it is full of too many fake republicans. There are so many of these poeple who just act like republicans because they know they arent democrats. they dont stand for anything and they dont mean anythign for the whole party except people like Scozzafava who just hope to get votes.
I love the Yulebrenner Cool Runnings screen name
Many have begun to say that the Republican Party has an “image problem.” While this may in fact be true, the Republican Party more accurately has a principle problem. There is a vast disconnect between what the Party supposedly stands for and what it actually brings to the table through the political process. While most Republicans proudly consider themselves to be conservatives, it is only the rare exception of elected official who actually reflects such a claim with his actions. While “acting” conservative gains favor among the party ranks and wins party nominations every November, it is far less likely for Republicans to actually lead from a conservative standpoint once they have taken public office. It has been the trend to pander to the Left or talk in terms of “Center-Right” in the interest of self preservation. This is not a problem of image. It is a problem caused by a lack of principle; a lack of core beliefs. It is an attempt to gain popularity and secure votes come reelection time; where each of them will undoubtedly only talk in terms of “Right” and “conservative” hoping we all blindly ignore their actions during their term in office.
