Michele Bachmann Calls for Congressional House Call

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-Minnesota) has been out in full force the last two days rallying the troops for another March on Washington.  This time the destination is Capitol Hill where they are encouraging American taxpayers to knock on the doors of their Congressmen and Senators to tell them an emphatic “NO” to the proposed healthcare legislation in what they are calling a Congressional House Call.  The rally/march/protest is scheduled for this Thursday.

Bachman told Human Events “We’re billing this as an emergency house call on Congress.  We want to bring all of the town halls of August here to Washington, D.C. because in two months, they’ve forgotten the message that the American people sent loud and clear in August,”

The hope is to once again draw upon the fervor of the Tea Party movement and the enthusiasm of the summer’s town hall meetings in a concerted effort to force those on Capitol Hill to listen and stand down on the proposed healthcare plans in both Houses.

No one involved is yet willing to estimate the expected turnout for the event, but I have no doubt that Democrats Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi will conspicuously absent all day Thursday- perhaps engaged in a few more “closed door meetings.”

To add some star power to the big event, organizers have enlisted the help of actor / political activist Jon Voight and the Godfather of Conservative talk radio – THE GREAT ONE – Mark Levin.  His presence alone makes it certainly worth tuning in to, even if you are unable to attend.

How do they expect people to come to these rallies and tea parties every week? Can’t they just get all the REpublicans up there and their staffers to go out and protest?

They don’t expect every American to be there, but they do intend for Americans who care about the future of their country to make the trip if they can find the time to. It is the future we leave to our children. I think thats worth a day off of work.
