Yesterday, House GOP members gathered on the steps of the Capitol Building for a rally in opposition to the proposed healthcare legislation.  I am yet to see any accurate figures for how many were in attendance, but it appeared to be a sizable crowd.  The rally wasn’t without a few stars either.  Jon Voight passionately got the rally off to a good start after there were a few flubs with the sound system as well as with the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.  Mark Levin stole the day however receiving endless applause throughout his address.  Here are a couple of clips from the rally.

Here’s The Great One

This was pretty embarrassing. Gentleman from Missouri, Todd Akin…maybe practice the Pledge of Allegiance a few times before you use it to bolster your point and attempt to recite it to million of Americans. You had just finished giving the history of the Pledge. Idiot!!  His contribution to the TOP TEN biggest political flubs of all time may not entirely be a bad thing however at the end of the day.  At least the mainstream media had to decide if showing your screw up was funny or defaming enough to also give air time to the rally.  So maybe I should cut you some slack.  You did get the rally on MSNBC and CNN.  Stupid, Stupid, Stupid!!

The demonstration yesterday was a remarkable display of the American First Amendment. I am troubled that you poke fun at it with the end of this article. I know you support the rally so why would you add that to discredit it?

A duck is a duck is a duck. He made a fool of himself when he was admittedly only saying the pledge to irritate liberals. Its not about politics or ideology, it is about having the common sense to know the words to the Pledge of Allegiance before you use it for political gain.
