The man who terrorized the nation for three weeks in 2002 as the “D.C. Sniper,” John Allen Muhammad, was put to death last night by lethal injection for the murder of Dean Harold Meyers. Meyers, who was shot in the head at a gas station in Manassas, Virginia, was one of 13 victims who were shot and killed in Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia over the course of Muhammad’s rampage. Muhammad and his accomplice Lee Boyd Malvo – who received life in prison without parole for his part in the acts- are also suspected of committing similar crimes in Louisiana and Arizona as well. The Supreme Court denied to hear his case on appeal Monday and his petition for clemency was denied by the Governor of Virginia, Tim Kaine, yesterday afternoon stating, “I find no compelling reason to set aside the sentence that was recommended by the jury and then imposed and affirmed by the courts. Accordingly, I decline to intervene.”
Several family members of the victims were in attendance at his execution that was carried out at 9pm at a Virginia prison.
Supreme Court refuses to stay his execution
Brother of victim to attend the execution of the DC Sniper
His ex-wife discusses her attempts to “purge herself of shame” related to her former husband’s actions. She is of course selling a book. Shocker!!

I am glad to see this man go. His hell will be a fitting punishment for the acts he committed.
