President Obama Talks the other GW with Al Gore
Yes, I am sure that there were a few jabs directed at GW – as in the 43rd President when former Vice President Al Gore met with President Obama in a closed door meeting at the White House yesterday, but the topic on the table was “global warming.” Yes, I know we are supposed to call it “climate change” these days, but in light of “climategate” I think some of the rules deserve to be rewritten. Gore was reportedly tapped to “prep” the President before his trip to Copenhagen next week to join the Global Climate Change Summit.
Funny that the President would still call upon Gore – who had expected this summit to be the culmination of his life’s work – as the Climategate scandal has Gore grounded stateside amidst allegations that much of his critically acclaimed movie was based on doctored evidence. Some within the Academy have even went so far as to call for him to return his Oscar for The Inconvenient Truth.
The President is set to meet with more environmental and business leaders today and tomorrow before he heads to Oslo to pick up his “much deserved” Nobel Prize and will then head to Copenhagen at the end of next week. Obama has little to take with him to Denmark as the Senate failed to pass the “cap and trade” bill, but he can be expected to head there all the same to promise the world to the summit even though Americans don’t support it and he will never find the votes to approve it.

So you are another one of these republicans who ignores science and thinks that global warming is a hollywood production. I love it when issues reveal the true ignorance in political pundits. You may have a thorough understanding of the constitution that leads you to some refreshing positions as a conservative, but you are just as stubborn and blissfully ignorant when it comes to science. When are you going to realize that science is not your enemy REpublican Party?
I didnt say any of that, so I am not sure why you would make those assumptions. If the Catholic Church can begin to appreciate the value of science, I think even conservatives can open the door as well. As for me, I believe very passionately in the importance of science, that being said, I have the ability and the motivation to question any and everything that anyone presents to me as fact when it is nothing more than theory. I would look at any issue with a similar degree of skepticism. For the specifics of this one, I happen to find it extremely funny that we had to change the name to climate change rather than global warming because those of us here in the US are freezin our bums off as we speak.
