James Clyburn debate health care reform, elections of 2010, and the Christmas day terror plot.  Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano discusses the botched Christmas terror attack and the administration’s plan for combating terror in the new year.  What she does not explain in this clip is how it is that almost ten years after 911 people who are on the “lists” still manage to get aboard planes without advanced screening.  Does the Department of Homeland Security not have a computer to throw these names on a database for use at airports?

Robert Gibbs being Robert Gibbs.  Absolutely full of crap and sharing little to no actual information.  He does say that health care reform negotiations have been televised openly on CSPAN like the President promised.  I guess I must have missed the days when they filmed behind closed doors in Harry Reid’s office.

Mitch McConnell is asked if Republicans will campaign on a promise to repeal the health care bill in 2010…

Robert Gibbs says that the President has initiated two “reviews” to explore the security weaknesses exploited in the Christmas day terror plot.  That should take about 12 months, so be prepared to protect yourself at the airports for the time being while the President goes into Afghan war strategy mode to fully evaluate the problem before him.

Rep. Peter King (R-NY) and Rep. James Clyburn – Dem Majority Whip – debate the President’s response to the Christmas terror attack.  Clyburn says that he’s glad that the president is measured in his reaction.  He even says that the President’s silence is precisely the correct course of action as speaking publicly about the issue would only give the terrorists what they want.  Really?? How bout doing nothing as well?  I’m sure that would really piss off the next group of terrorists with bombs strapped to their ankles.
