Sarah Palin made her Fox News debut tonight as a contributor on Bill O’Reilly’s The Factor. The segment ran about fifteen minutes and the two covered quite a bit of material and a pretty wide range of topics. They hit Reid’s-a-Racist gate, Iran, Pelosi the super-lib, Game Change, Steve Schmidt, and the Tea Party Convention. I know what you’re thinking… he’s going to bash Palin for something she said, something she didn’t say, for her decision to take the gig, or just for the sake of bashing her. Well… you’d be wrong this time. I’m not going to do it. In fact, my reaction is just the opposite. I thought she was great. As a pundit, I want one-liners, quick jabs, cheap shots, and someone I don’t mind looking at / listening to only sweetens the deal. I don’t particularly like her voice but that’s nitpicking at this point. In fairness, she didn’t offer much in the way of commentary or substance, but it was her first night and O’Reilly was clearly trying to ease her into it – so I actually blame him for anything that was lacking rather than her.
In short, I love Palin on Fox News. I have been routing for her to make this move for months now, and I’m just happy the day has finally come. I think she’s instantly the best conservative television personality out there – bar none. And yes… I mean it. I promise.
She is scheduled to spend the full hour with Glenn Beck tomorrow and I wait with anticipation to see how it goes.
