Miss Me Yet?

February 9, 2010
By

In case you haven’t seen or heard about this billboard, I thought I would throw it up here so you could have a good laugh.  I saw it for the first time yesterday in a forwarded email and thought it was just a clever photoshop but awoke this morning to see that the Internet was abuzz with speculation about the sign’s origin.  Breitbart TV says the billboard has been confirmed as genuine and not just an Internet hoax, and the race appears to be on to find out who flipped the bill for this now very popular advertisement located on Interstate 35 near Wyoming, Minnesota.

Some are hesitant to call this an anti-Obama advertisement out of fears that it is an cleverly crafted “ironic message” posted by a Left-Winger attempting to remind us of the low points of the Bush administration as we head into election season.  I can’t really get on board for that level of conspiracy being at work here.  I’m more inclined to think it is the brainchild of the owner of a billboard who was struggling to fill his advertising space – in the middle of nowhere – so he decided to have a little fun with the President as he heads into his second year of destroying this great nation.

Another Black Conservative appears to agree with me…

I don’t think this billboard has anything to do with an ironic message. It seems more like it is asking, “How’s that Hopey Changey stuff out working out for ya”?

I will keep you updated when I learn more.  I am sure the mystery won’t last the day.

Instapundit had this posted earlier and now video has been posted at Breitbart TV.  This mysterious billboard looks an awful lot like Troglopundit’s Bush automotivator.  NPR reports the billboard is indeed real but the push is on to find out who paid for the billboard and whether or not the message is ironic?

Michelle Malkin has some very real “misgivings” about the billboard story.  She even offers a recommendation for a better sign if someone wants to make a “real” one…

I’m not the only one with misgivings about the Bush “Miss Me Yet?”billboard.

Reader W.E. Messamore came up with some new and improved “Miss Me Yet?” billboard photoshops, including my favorite:

Mystery Solved for now…

Mary Teske, the general manager of Schubert & Hoey Outdoor Advertising reports, “The Bush Miss Me Yet? billboard was paid for by a group of small business owners who feel like Washington is against them. They wish to remain anonymous. They thought it was a fun way of getting out their message.”

Various people have stepped forward around the country to claim credit — the latest was a gentleman in upstate New York from what I can tell in his e-mail. But, it’s all local, folks.

If I had enough money I would put one of those signs in every city. I couldnt wait to see Bush go but Id like to have him back now. Bush had some flaws but he was an honest man. This administration doesn’t have even one of those.

I think you may be able to kick into the cause if you want to before all is said and done. I can smell a series of these signs on the horizon with some fundraising likely already underway..

I have been sporting the bumpersticker for 4 months!
The Kirchoffs Morning Coffee Bunch conspired (hehe) and sold them for $ 5.00 each. My Father,75, the youngest of the group bought the first one and handed it to me and said “You know what to do”! I went outside and put it on!!!

That is awesome. I’d love to get my hands on one. Can you put me in contact with the Kirchoff’s Morning Coffee Brunch conspiracy? Either way, tell your father well done. Glad you knew what to do with it…
