Robert Gibbs is Funny
Apparently Press Secretary Robert Gibbs fancies himself a funny-man and showed off his comedic talents at today’s White House briefing with the Press CorPs mocking Former Governor Sarah Palin for having seven words scribbled on her hand while she delivered a 45 minute speech at the Tea Party Convention in Nashville this weekend. Very proud of himself for his clever little joke, Gibbs said “I wrote a few things down”….
“Eggs, milk, and bread but I crossed out bread just so I could make pancakes for Ethan in case it snows. Then I wrote down Hope and Change just in case I forgot that.”
If Gibbs were any more of a nerd… Andrew Poindexter, Louis Skolnick, and Gilbert Lowell would bully, ridicule, and torment his goofy little Dewey Duck looking tail unrepentantly out of principle for his degradation of the word - NERD. He has conducted himself as Press Secretary with the dignity and honor of a cheap-trick sideshow carny and his only redeeming virtue is the fact that his place as the front man for this administration discredits he who appointed him with his every uttered word. Now, I’m not one to come down hard on injecting a sense of humor into politics, as I think its a talent lacking in most on Capitol Hill, but seriously man… you’re a day late and a dollar short on this one to say the least.

If you’re wondering about the CorPs reference. Apparently our Commander-n-Chief doesn’t know how to pronounce those tricky little words with the funny P’s…. like oh let’s just say…. Marine Corps. I think he nailed Peace Corps though. So go figure.
On a related front… Can we please move on to a week when I don’t have to repeatedly defend Sarah Palin? I am on my last leg here and can’t take much more…

Russ at That’s Right is calling for a blog war – but I’m not sure where the distinction is – Scratcher thinks Gibbs is an “immature jackass” and I think he’s a raging nerd and a babbling dolt. I call that mutual agreement on his shortcomings.

That was my favorite movie from the 80 and 90’s. Those guys were so nerdy that they were cute. Robert Gibbs is not. His attempt at humor was not funny at all.

I have to agree Hammy. A Palin fan I am not, but the level ridicule over this “controversy” has been appalling.
Milton I saw this comment a few moments ago and have been deliberating over how to sufficiently respond. My initial reaction was to chastise you and to reduce your adolescent comment to rubble. Being as far away from a Palin fan as a conservative can be, I am inclined to share your frustration with the former governor, but I cannot share in your cheap shot directed at her over this one. She has her shortcomings, but I am inclined to believe that this one deserves a pass. That being said, I don’t want to hear anymore speeches referring to a teleprompter from her or want to hear anymore dribble about not taking her cues from others or prescripting her statements. IFF I hear those things henceforth I will destroy her on this site accordingly – just as I intended to destroy you for your careless post.. Go in peace Milton. We can save this fight for another day..
