By now, you have undoubtedly heard about the trillion dollar omnibus proposal that was unveiled Tuesday. Just in case you have not, posted below are a few appropriation requests (pieces of ridiculous pork) that were included in the legislation. You can also click here to see Senator McCain (R-AZ) railing about them on the floor of the Senate; or here if you want to see Senator Corker (R-TN) explain why the omnibus monstrosity is an abomination and why passing a “continuing measure” to keep the government running (temporarily) would be the more prudent course. But if you’re up to speed and have once again been given insight into how utterly out of touch with reality our elected officially truly are, you might be wondering what role your Congressman or Senator had to play in this proposed spending spree.
If you are so inclined, follow this link to ENDING SPENDING and have a look for yourself. You will be blown away. I haven’t had that much fun or been so completely disgusted in weeks.
Here are a few that you might be wondering about…

I added Jim Bunning below Mitch McConnell only because he is retiring. It was awfully nice of him to fall on the sword for the Minority Leader on his way out the door. $650 million? Are you kidding me? Add that to McConnell’s tally and its nearly a billion. If that ain’t Republican leadership I don’t know what is….
John Thune may have some explaining to do finding his way on this list as well. I thought for sure I’d find Scott Brown with a big figure next to his name, but was rather surprised to see nothing but a goose egg; until I saw his senior senator’s take-home (John Kerry).
Definitely take a spin around that site. There is a link for last year’s approved port at the top and they also have a tab for “Heroes and Hooligans.” Here’s the list.

“$522,000 for cranberry and blueberry disease and breeding in New Jersey”
Seriously, because that’s what’s making us all sick around here. Fuckin’ cranberries.
