Krauthammer: Palin, Bachmann No Chance of Winning; Trump the Al Sharpton of the Republican Party

krauthammer palinHe knows the backlash will come; and he says it anyways.  That’s why I respect, appreciate, and adore Mr. Krauthammer.  He tells it like it is – even when the “it” is going to piss off half his readers/followers.  He says “address the emails to me.”

After listening to clips from the weekend’s Tea Party circuit, conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer says Former Governor Haley Barbour is the only “serious candidate” – “serious with a chance of winning” that is.  He says Palin and Bachmann are competing for the same constituency and the Trumpster’s assuming the role of Al Sharpton for the Republican Party.

Thank you Charles Krauthammer.  I don’t agree with the Barbour statements, but I’m buying the rest of your thesis here.  I’ve been feeling like I’ve smelled this Trump routine before and you nailed it.  The Trump game totally smacks of Sharpton-esque issue exploitation.  As to Bachmann/Palin, I don’t disagree with the claim that they’re fighting for the same votes, but I do believe Bachmann is on the verge of showing her hand in the form of a full-blown announcement rendering Gov Palin’s run hypocritical if not unconscionable as she’s said she won’t run if another legitimate conservative is in the field.   My point?  Competing for the same votes may turn into outright feuding for the hearts and minds of bumper-sticker RepubliConservatives.  End result?   One candidate emerges.  You pick’em.  I’m not that brave; or that bright.
