Krauthammer: Newt is Done, It’s Over

May 17, 2011
By

Charles Krauthammer discussed Donald Trump, Mike Huckabee, and Newt Gingrich with Brett Baier on Fox News Monday night.  After weighing in on the first two and their respective decisions not to take a run at the White House, the conservative columnist shifted his focus to Newt Gingrich who made headlines over the weekend for being critical of Paul Ryan’s budget proposal.

Okay, “being critical” is probably giving Newt far too much credit.  He called it “Right Wing Social Engineering.”  When I heard the words come from his mouth I instantly sighed and said “It’s Over.”  It seems Mr. Krauthammer agrees with me.

When asked by Baier about the remarks, Krauthammer responded saying,

“This is a big deal. He’s done. He didn’t have a big chance from the beginning, but now it’s over. . . . He won’t recover.”

I do believe he’s right.
