In one of the most candid and personal moments of the evening at the ABC /Yahoo News Iowa GOP Presidential Debate, Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich was asked whether “infidelity” should be an issue in a presidential race. His response will no doubt surprise some – Absolutely. It’s a very real issue.
Gingrich went on to add that he’s not the same person he was (personally) when he made his now very public mistakes. He says he’s now a 68-year-old grandfather and one that hopes the American People can see in spite of past transgressions.

He divorced a terminally ill wife. If he can beak his marriage oath to a dying wife because he finds her inconvenient then he isn’t the sort of man who I’d trust to keep his oath of office either. Ron Paul 2012!
First off Doug, thanks for the comment; but I do believe you are spreading the sort of trash and smut that you would probably condemn in any other walk of life. You’re trading on rumors and speculation that have been characterized as “truths” simply because they continue to be spread.
He may very well not be the man – you or anyone for that matter – can trust with the Oath of Office, but I do believe you should take another look at your justification for drawing that conclusion.
First off – his “dying wife” did not die.
Second – she asked for the divorce.
Third – the hospital account which most reference was recently disputed by her/his daughter. You can see that here. http://www.unionleader.com/article/20111120/OPINION02/711209969
I appreciate your support for Ron Paul, but I do believe you do his campaign a disservice by basing your argument on his behalf on this sort of nonsense. Oppose Gingrich’s candidacy because he’s made a rather long and “distinguished” career of making some rather questionable decisions in the political arena. Save the personal Inquirer garbage for the hair salon and gossiping with the girls.
