South Carolina Primary – Rick Perry’s Alamo?

January 15, 2012
By

Texas Governor Rick Perry made an appearance on This Week with George Stephanopolous Sunday morning to discuss his fledgling campaign ahead of this week’s lineup of debates and South Carolina primary.  From the outset, he was pressed with questions about whether South Carolina was his campaign’s “Alamo” – an assertion Perry deflected by continuing to push the message that he’s the most fiscally and socially conservative in the field.

And just in case you were wondering, he’s not at all worried about that group of “social conservatives” that got together in Texas and decided to coalesce behind Rick Santorum to oppose Mitt Romney.  ”That’s what they said about Ronald Reagan…  We’ll wait and see what the people of South Carolina say.”
