Jay Carney on Biden for Hillary Swap: Not Going to John McCain for VP Advice; VIDEO Added

Let me begin by offering a brief disclaimer.  You know it’s a slow news day when a Hollywood actor can grab headlines in the “political” news world by going on Leno and claiming his “out of the closet Republican” status cost him an Emmy nod.  You know it’s a slow news week when you’re following the president’s daily schedule.  You know you’re really, really, really desperate when you’re following said schedule and speculating whether it may be a sign that Obama’s about to trade in a broken and squeaky Biden for a Hillary with half a million miles on the tires.  You know you’re ready to lose it when you write about all the above – just a day after writing about Donald Trump’s next “big surprise.”

Either way, here we go.  Yet again.

Since the Biden for Hillary trade speculation seems to be the topic of the day/week; it was somewhat fitting that someone finally got the White House on the record about it.  Thank you Ed Henry.

The “official” White House response via Press Secretary Carney probably did very little to bring an end to the speculation; but it did provide what may have been the first genuinely funny moment of his tenure.

THE DAILY CALLER:  Carney was asked by Ed Henry of Fox News to “settle” the issue “once and for all” and say whether or not Biden will remain on the ticket.

“Yes and that was said settled a long long time ago,” Carney said. “And while I appreciate, I have great admiration for and respect for and a long relationship with John McCain but one place I would not go for advice on vice presidential running mates is to Senator McCain.”

Pretty sure he was sitting on that one. Can’t wait for the Palin / McCain reaction…

Picture me laughing.
