Olympic Medalist and X Games star Shawn White was arrested and charged with public intoxication and vandalism after an incident at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel.  Sounds like the snow/skateboarding star really tied one on before mixing it up and heading back to the hotel.

NASHVILLE:  Olympic medalist Shaun White is facing charges after an incident that occurred at a Nashville hotel room Sunday morning.

Police reported they were called to Loews Vanderbilt Hotel located on West End Avenue just after 2 a.m. regarding the intoxicated 26-year-old.

Authorities reported White allegedly pulled a fire alarm at the hotel which resulted in the evacuation of all guests.

An employee also said he saw White destroy a hotel phone.

Police said the gold medalist reportedly attempted to flee the hotel in a cab, however a citizen was able to prevent the cab from leaving.

White is said to have kicked the citizen and attempted to flee on foot. The unidentified citizen reported that he chased White before the professional snowboarder fell into a fence, striking his head.

Officers responded to the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel at 2 a.m. Sunday after a drunken man identified as the 26-year-old White pulled a fire alarm, forcing the hotel to evacuate all guests. An employee also reported seeing White destroy a hotel phone.

White tried to leave the hotel in a cab before being stopped by a hotel guest who told the driver police had been called. According to police, White kicked at the man before running away. The man chased him and they collided when White turned around. White, who is also one of the world’s top skateboarders, fell back and hit his head against a fence, police said.

White, who appeared to be drunk, was given the opportunity to sign misdemeanor citations and refused, police said. A spokeswoman for Baptist Hospital said White was treated there and released on Monday before being arrested and booked by police. A mug shot released by police shows White with a black eye.
