Paul Ryan: President Obama Wants Political Conquest, Not Compromise (VIDEO)

January 27, 2013

Paul Ryan President Obama

As you probably noticed, I’ve devoted multiple posts to Congressman Paul Ryan’s Sunday appearance on Meet the Press.  I rarely find more than one portion of such interviews to be particularly “newsworthy”; so one typically does the trick.  But considering the fact that he was on the ticket that lost to Obama / Biden; and the fact that he’s the Chairman of the House Budget Committee; and because everyone save for Marco Rubio and Bobby Jindal want to label him “The Future of the Party”; I figured it was fitting.  Beyond that, dude did a bang-up job in his first major public interview.

One line is sure to grab some headlines.

GREGORY:  You seem to see a lot of division here.  You seem to think the president in some way is trying to finish off the Republican Party… and you blame the president for that and his mindset.”

RYAN:  I decided to not comment between the election and the inauguration because I wanted to see what kind of path and trajectory he was putting his administration on; and all of the statements and all of the comments lead me to believe that he’s thinking more of a political conquest than political compromise, and that’s my concern.”

He’s thinking more of a political conquest than political compromise.

Sounds about right.
