While I certainly do not agree with everything in legislation he has proposed, I do 100% support and agree his repeated assertion that the Republican Party needs to be the PRO Immigration Party - just the legal kind. My view on illegal immigration begins where most begin the conversation - at the border. If the border is not secured, the whole conversation is nothing more than an exercise in pandering to respective electorates. Beyond that, I recognize the practicality restraints of "deporting" millions of people. Because of that, I think it is imprudent for my fellow Republicans to take any idea off the table - as long as it is an idea and not a bargain - if that moves the discussion closer to securing the border and beginning the process of fixing a problem that I believe threatens the most fundamental principles of what makes a sovereign nation sovereign. Where Rubio and I agree on any of those points, I'd certainly support him. Truth be told, his immigration stance is a bit nuanced and evolving for my tastes. Where he is now - as in today - I think we could get out of the gate and move in the right direction. I’m glad you found the site AD.
