That said, like you, my reservations with Santorum have begun to prove unwarranted. I still fully believe the Left and the MSM will assail him to the nth degree, but he has proven rather effective in deflecting and/or outright rejecting what they have thrown his direction. I hadn't heard about OK. My home state of TN has yet to produce a poll I believe or trust at this point and it looks like it could be quite a race in the Volunteer State. Super Tuesday should be quite the exciting contest. Surprising even to myself, I am still very much undecided for a host of reasons. I have to give Santorum credit, though. He kept his cool, when he may very well have felt like bouncing Schieffer off the wall. I know that's how I would have felt, under the circumstances. Even though I still plan to vote for Ron Paul, many of my reservations about Santorum have faded. I will have no problem voting for him, if he wins the nomination. Towards that end, it looks like he has surged to the lead in Oklahoma, my home state. Bob Schieffer clearly owes Rick Santorum an apology. I have to give Santorum credit, though. On numerous occasions, my opinion of a politician changed - better or worse - as a result of having met him/her in person. My present fears are more about the MSM than President Obama - speaking to how I believe he will handle himself. They will stop at nothing to destroy him - more so than Romney and probably more so than Gingrich. But, as I said above, this interview went a long way to calming my reservations. I can think of nothing more potentially explosive than a matter involving one's children. He handled it well, and clearly earned some points with me in the process. This guy has some good people working with him and if he were to get the nomination he would handle himself very well with Obama. I had my doubts for quite awhile - but no more. While taking in to account the fact that a North Idaho crowd is going to be very friendly, he was, nonetheless, asked some very tough questions. You can call me a believer... You can't. You would not be allowed at the death bed of your spouse. You would not get marriage tax type benefits. You would not be allowed to go to parties with your spouse under some circumstances (see military until recently): your document would not be recognized as valid. There are two marriages: one before God, and the other a legally binding contract recognized by the state and the federal governments. The second is what the Gay community wants. And there are too many places in the law where the word 'Marriage' is located, you could not find all such laws and incorporate them in your document. Civil Unions try, and fail to cover this.
