I suppose I’m a day+behind this one, but I couldn’t resist getting my two cents in. You see, I despise Al Gore. Part because he’s a Tennessean and he’s a disgrace to my home state; and part because he’s a fear-mongering nitwit with angry at the planet and even more angry at the American People for not giving him the keys to run said planet. Bush v. Gore…WTF, right?
“Countdown With Keith Olbermann” is the name of the new program set to debut on Al Gore’s Current TV June 20, 2011. Keith Olbermann has been looking for a new gig since MSNBC dropped him earlier this year. Olbermann says he’s been given the opportunity to put together the “finest staff on air and off in television news.” Seems kinda like putting on the world’s greatest party that no one will attend if you ask me. In fairness, I feel quite certain that by “finest” he really meant most liberal, Fox/Republican hating, fear mongering; but why mince words?
Bill Clinton: Is he stumping? Is he warming up for a Hillary 2012 push? Is he making a move on Al Gore’s Enviro-movement? Is he simply trying to fill the void? Former President Bill Clinton has been tearing up the television circuit recently talking to any and every political pundit, journalist, and commentator with microphone and a video camera capable of adequately capturing the depths of his unmatched “compassion” and charisma. The topic dejure has varied from appearance-to-appearance, but in each and every interview, he’s managed to bring the conversation back to a short list of Clinton-the-candidate style talking points that flow from his mouth like he’s found the secret elixir restoring him to the once “bulletproof” man that claimed the White House in 1992 and again in 1996.
Global warming alarmists were dealt another blow this weekend by the most recent in a series of “admissions” that scientific data regarding the “man-made” phenomena may have been inaccurate or at least poorly calculated. You’ll be happy to know that there are no email controversies or general lack of fundamental office skills to blame for this one either. The scientists behind the aspect of global climate change theory that predicted a catastrophic rise in seal levels by 2100 are now “admitting” that their findings may have been somewhat inaccurate due to “one miscalculation” and a failure to “allow fully for temperature change over the past 2,000 years.”
In a state of obvious shame, the scientists have retracted the paper that revealed the pending environmental disaster and will “invest in the further work needed to correct the mistakes.”
Before we dive too deeply into this story, I should acknowledge two points. While I don’t buy into the whole “People are terrible… We’re burning up the planet and have to free ourselves of all the perks of innovation and technology thing… I do believe that our presence as a People on this wonderful little planet is and will continue to leave a mark. That being said, so too does the cow population, and until we can get them to limit their “bovine gas emissions” I’m holding on to the gas-powered car and the BBQ grill.
All that being said, this is one hell of a story. Professor Phil Jones – a scientist at the center of the Global Warming debate and the Climate Gate email fiasco told the BBC yesterday there was “truth in the observations of colleagues that he lacked organizational skills, that his office was swamped with piles of paper and that his record keeping is ‘not as good as it should be” according to Daily Mail. It appears that scientists were far more concerned with turning out the numbers and producing the headlines than they were with actually keeping credible records to support their “findings.”

Good ole Al Gore was at it again yesterday as he spoke to reporters at the Global Climate Change Summit in Denmark. He found himself yet again in muddy water as he “misquoted” a few figures regarding the melting of polar ice caps. To be clear – he said that there was a 75% certainty that there would be no ice there in 5-7 years and his only source of information was the scientific equivalent to a house being sold over a twelve pack of beers. When will this guy just give up the fight? I am not one that believes that every ounce of climate change theory is a farce, but I am one that undeniably thinks that every word that comes from this guy’a mouth is a total crock. When is he going to realize that he only succeeds in discrediting the theory at this point with his every word? He seems to have a blind and quasi-religious “faith” in this scientific theory that if gazed upon with any level of objectivity could only be seen as delusion at this point regardless of the validity of the fundamental tenets of his views. Someone please bless him with some melted polar ice cap water and tell him that his penance is done and he can finally shut up.
Since the major networks won’t report on the issue, many of us have to turn to unusual sources for news on the budding “ClimateGate” scandal in which scientist’s emails have been revealed that show they doctored the evidence of their findings on Global Warming. When in need of said alternative sources, we often turn to the foreign press or to the blog world to find what we are looking for but from time to time, we can turn to unusual sources like Jon Stewart and the Daily Show when what we get from ABC, CBS, and NBC is lacking.
Last night, the Glenn Beck Program on the Fox News Channel went head first into the issue with the Founder and President of PETA, Ingrid Newkirk. She took Gore to task for his efforts to put on the false environmental facade while still polluting and destroying the environment with the rest of us heathens.
