Is it Har Bowl or Harbaugh Bowl? I’m pretty sure either one will work. Well you can’t say S-U-*-E-R BO*L. That kinda limits the list, don’t ya think? Actually, I guess you can. You’ll just find yourself in a civil suit if you try. All things considered, I think a tribute to the Harbaugh brothers is appropriate.

The German Football Association has reportedly told Lena Gercke, attractive lady and the girlfriend of national team midfielder Sami Khedira, to tone down the way she dresses for the German team’s semifinal match against Italy in Euro 2012 on Thursday.

You may struggle to find a bigger critic of National Anthem performances than yours truly. I typically hate them all; and my level of hate and contempt usually grows with the size of the audience and the gravity of the stage. That’s due in at least in part; because otherwise extremely talented performers – through their miserable attempts at leaving “their own mark” on the Anthem – generally make me think of little more than how or why they were chosen. They turn a pub song turned iconic tune into an audition tape for the voice that probably wouldn’t get a 1000 hits on YouTube. It’s shameful. I share that not to warn you about what I’m about to say about Kelly Clarkson’s Super Bowl XLVI performance, but as a bit of background before I praise her.

While I’m willing to bet you tuned in for the Broncos-Patriots Game on CBS to see Tim Tebow and Tom Brady going head-to-head, if you’re like me, you probably lost interest somewhere on or around the first quarter and began wondering how bad the beating could be before the final whistle blew. While my mind drifted off to other things whilst watching said beatdown, I pulled up Google Trends to see how much of the top 20 was dominated by Tebow, Brady, Denver Broncos, NFL, playoffs, etc. And just as I expected, the list was overrun with Tebow-Mania and topics related to the NFL and the last-minute finish between the 49ers and the Saints… save for one. An add by Focus on the Family.
